FAQ for Erasmus+ applicants

The Erasmus+ is an international exchange programme in the field of education, training, youth and sport.

The Erasmus+ programme is open to organisations and participants from different fields – school education (principals, teachers, staff and pupils in pre-primary, primary and secondary education), vocational education and training (pupils, apprentices and students in vocational education and training, professionals and trainers, staff of initial vocational education and training organisations, trainers and professionals in enterprises etc.), higher education (students, professors, staff of higher education institutions, trainers and professionals in enterprises etc.), adult education (members of non-vocational adult education organisations, trainers, staff and learners in non-vocational adult education), youth (young people, youth workers, trainers, volunteers etc.) and sport (coaches, trainers, sports staff and volunteers in grassroot sports organisations).

Activities supported by the programme include study, teaching and training periods abroad, courses, traineeships, exchanges, job shadowing, youth activities etc. These activities provide opportunities for participants from diverse backgrounds to learn, grow and exchange experiences.

Participants with fewer opportunities are participants that require additional financial support due to their personal, physical, mental or health-related conditions. Most common barriers that are hindering their participation in the programme are the following: disabilities, health problems, barriers linked to education and training systems, cultural differences, social barriers, economic barriers, barriers linked to discrimination and geographical barriers.

Inclusion and diversity is one of the four main priorities of the programme. If you are a participant with fewer opportunities, you may be eligible for additional financial assistance to support your supplementary costs, such as subsistence, travel arrangements, accompanying persons etc. Your organisation can also receive additional financial support (inclusion support) for each of the participants with fewer opportunities that is taking part in the mobility – 100 € per participant. Additional funding is also available to fund preparatory visits and make all the necessary mobility arrangements. For organisations new to the programme or with less experience that aim to implement inclusive projects, smaller and simpler project formats are available, including shorter hybrid or online mobilities designed for those unable or reluctant to spend a longer period abroad.
